If you love Apple, love colors, or love Apple because of its use of colors, you will most certainly love this news. On Tuesday, Apple announced their first major resign of the iMac since 2012. Featuring seven different brightly colored options, the new iMacs also come with larger 24-inch screens – an upgrade from their current 21-inch screens. Aside from these changes, the new iMacs will also have improved cameras, microphones, and speakers which cater to video calls millions of people around the world have had to adapt to amid the pandemic. Impressively, the new iMac still includes a headphone jack as well.
These computers are Apple’s latest product to use the M1 chip. Debuted last year, the chips are Apple’s own built-in-house processors that allow them to bypass their reliance on third party companies such as Intel or AMD. Consumers will also benefit from the M1 chip, as it should allow the computer to remain both quitter and cooler than previous models.
Preorders for the iMac will begin next Friday, April 30th with devices being available starting mid-May. Prices for the new iMac start at $1,299 for four color choices, and $1,499 for a greater array of colors and extra features.
