Windows 10 will soon be changing their File Explorer icons. The rollout of Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 21343 was announced on March 24. This beta build will test new designs for multiple File Explorer icons including the Recycle Bin, disk drives, and document folders. Default icons such as calculator and mail were updated earlier by Microsoft and will continue to evolve. Release date for these changes is still to be determined.
Microsoft has noted that these new icons will only be available to the Windows Insider members in developer channel. They also noted that users may see a loss of personalized folders pinned to their Quick Access upon upgrade. Before upgrading, users should take note as to which folders they have pinned.
This build will also include improvements to Windows 10. Windows Administrative Tools will be renamed Windows Tools. There will also be a change to the organization of the Windows admin and system tools. The update also comes with fixes to certain Windows 10 bugs. One such issue that has now been fixed is the problem of apps crashing while being installed.
