As of Tuesday, May 18, 2021, Windows has released their biannual update. This version is known as 21H1. While the first of the two updates per year is normally the bigger update, Windows has changed things this year. 21H1 is the smaller update of the two this time. 21H2, the bigger update, is likely to debut in October.
Nothing about the 21H1 update is inherently new. It is necessary, however, to install all Windows updates, as they come with important security patches and bug fixes. Windows updates will automatically install themselves at some point, however, to immediately install them, you can go to Microsoft's Website and click “Update Now.”
With 21H1 taking the backseat on the bigger update, the question remains – what is in store for 21H2? Although there is no guarantee on what will happen with the 21H2 update (after all, 21H1 was originally thought to be the bigger update) there is still speculation as to what’s to come. Some of the rumors include the following:
- weather and news on the taskbar
- startup app notifications
- dark mode for windows search
- more emojis
- a plethora of other exciting things, including items that will help undoubtedly assist PrydeTech in keeping your company’s technology safe and secure.
